Jack Bado, Lead Coach

Personally I have worked for over a decade helping 16 and 17 year olds through to 25 year olds prepare for life as a full time golfer. We have seen huge handicap improvements
and had many success’s. The main goal of creating this program is to start this journey for keen junior golfers earlier and give them every opportunity that the golfers in these photos had.

Testimonials

What our students say

“I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Jack, his endless strive to learn and improve himself is so inspiring to make me push on and become a better golfer myself. Jack has a knowledge of the modern professional and elite amateur game, and has experienced coaching DP world players.”

– Masson Essam

Handicap change; 6 to +6 in 5 years and
selection for England Mens Squad

“I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Jack. Using his expertise and understanding of Trackman, we have been able to use data insights to assist me in delivering swing changes to maximise output. This is then followed up by drills that have enabled me to track and use as a point of reference when on my own. Most importantly it is Jack as a person and his personal values. He really cares about all his students and golfers. He makes golf enjoyable, providing guidance and support on all things golf and life.”

Xavier Hollands

Handicap change; 17 to +2 in 4 years

“Jack has been coaching me for the last 2 years, and his knowledge of the game and ability to help me change has led to me shooting my lowest ever scores. He’s a huge part of why my game is at the level it is today. Can’t wait to keep working with Jack and see where my game can go.”

Noe Kappler

Handicap change; 2 to +3 in 2 years

“When I started working with Jack I was content with getting down to a 4 handicap which would enable me to do the PGA. Under Jack’s tutelage and supervision I have been able to achieve far more and push my goals much further, currently playing off +4 rather than the intended target of 4. Jack helped me to develop not only a more technically sound swing, but also a structure to my practice and tournament preparation that has allowed me to continue progressing since leaving college. Having a coach with the ability to decipher and utilise 3D biomechanics systems and relay them in a simple and informative way was a real game changer in pushing my game to the next level. In my experience, working with Jack is a no brainer for anyone serious about making positive changes and pushing the needle in their own game.”

Jon Exon-Taylor

Handicap change; 11 to +4 in 6 years

“I went to the golf college from 2016 with a handicap of 1 and left in 2018 with a handicap of +3. Jack coached me through the Golf College for those 2 years which my game came on leaps and bounds. I took a few years break from being coached by Jack and in March 2019 I turned pro. In July 2021 I started working with Jack again after Covid as I was struggling with my long game. I am so happy I made the move back to Jack as since then my game has come on a huge amount. Working with Jack is easy as everything is explained clearly and simple but he also has the data to back everything up. Since working with Jack I have had 4 wins as a pro in 3 years.

Our Team

Meet Our Team

Our focus is building a team around each player. Jack and Jay are the two lead coaches in charge of player development, but the whole team is made up of specialists in each area of the game. This is the same way tour professionals work.

Jack has been working at The Golf College for 10 years along side Denis Pugh and founder Paul Lyons. He now leads the coaching and performance development for the 100 students at the golf college. Jack has helped male and female junior golfers achieve national squad selection across 5 different countries, win national amateur championships, play in European / DP tour events and earn full playing rights on tour. Jack has spent the last decade refining the process of helping juniors become the best version of themselves. From developing their mental toughness, to improving their technique and introducing physical training in the gym Jack is an expert in junior development.

program

The Program

These are the four pillars we believe are important when creating a Factory of Champions. Our goal is to build a solid foundation in these four key areas. We know it takes around 10,000 hours to master a skill…. If the skill is being a work class golfer in the modern game we believe there are four foundation skills you must develop during your 10,000 hours.

Proficient Technique

You must have an underpinning of good technique across the board regarding hitting the golf ball. Long game, short game and putting. We believe consistency of coaching is vital. Once a player gets to 16 years old we don’t want to be making large swing changes when they should be refining their ability to compete with consistent keys.

Mental Toughness

The world number ones in any sport show a mental toughness above the level of their competitors. Introducing our simple form of mental toughness from a young age means their process can be refined as they grow up. By the time they hit 18 their process has been years in the making.

Strength & Conditioning

Despite previous concerns, it is now accepted that children can participate safely in strength training when supervised by qualified personnel. There is a fantastic window of opportunity created by starting at the right time to help junior golfers prevent common injuries

Golf Smart

Golf smart covers a few areas within golf like pre tournament course strategy, decision making, physical conditioning and nutrition, mental preparation, equipment optimization, adapting to weather conditions, practicing under pressure and visualization and using a stat program to review tournaments.
